Today, Epic Games took to Twitter to announce that it will be hosting an Avengers: Infinity War-inspired crossover event in the sandbox survival title Fortnite tomorrow in the form of a Limited Time Mode based around the film's Infinity Gauntlet. With this being the case, many fans began to wonder whether or not the studio would use the forthcoming LTM to offer up some new skins based on The Avengers themselves. Unfortunately, though, it doesn't seem to be an initiative Epic is pursuing at this point in time.
According to a message shared during a recent Reddit thread, Epic Games' community manager for Fortnite, Nathan Mooney, broke the news to fans that the company currently has "no plans for Avengers outfits in the store." With this being the first major crossover event to come to the game – and with the Marvel imprint easily being one of the world's most well-known and renowned brands – there's no doubt that the lack of such skins will be disappointing to players.
Taking all of this into consideration, should Epic Games and Marvel ever decide to actually team up for some Fortnite crossover skins, it's safe to say that both companies would absolutely rake in the dough (as if the firms weren't making enough money already). After all, Marvel has a nearly endless well of heroes and villains from which to draw inspiration, and a little bit of legwork has already been done to prove how much players want the mashup to happen, as one fan created a Black Panther skin not too long ago.
Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
