For the past decade, Tyler "Ninja" Blevins has risen as one of the most popular internet celebs and competitive Fortnite players. Ninja set viewership records throughout his competitive career and quickly became one of the most famous celebrities online, boasting over 24 million subscribers on YouTube. While Ninja had a YouTube channel that focused on other games, Fortnite was the instrument that caused his breakout into fame.

However, after years of success with a competitive career through Fortnite, Ninja may be done with the famous battle royale. The news also comes a week after he resigned from competitive Valorant. Regardless, it's also worth noting that he doesn't fully rule out a return to competitive Fortnite.

During a relaxed Final Fantasy 14 stream, Ninja was asked if he would return to Fortnite comp, to which he responded, "more than likely won't return... until it makes sense." Obviously, after years of engaging in a competitive career, Ninja more than likely just wants a break. "Honestly, I don't want to get sucked back into the competitive s***," he continued. For someone who has based his career on competitive games and esports tournaments, it's fair to believe he might be a little burnt out now.

Ninja's most recent venture into the Fortnite competitive space occurred during the 2019 Winter Royale, where he teamed up with Reverse2k. Since then, a year and a half have passed, marking Ninja's longest period of inactivity since the game's initial release. Yet, this isn't the first time that Ninja has proclaimed that he's done with Fortnite in some measure. Early last year, Ninja was streaming the game before he was killed four times by the same player. In which case, Ninja frustratingly exited Fortnite and began ranting to his audience about how the game is "dumb."

Nevertheless, Ninja doesn't state that he would never return to the game or its competitive space. After all, Fortnite remains one of the biggest games in the online scene, and Ninja is a massive figure in the games industry. Furthermore, Ninja is involved in various facets of the entertainment industry, as Ninja revealed earlier this year that he recorded his first voiceover for the lead character in a TV series.

In addition to landing a role as the lead character in a TV series, Ninja also announced a graphic novel, Ninja: War for the Dominions. This is all to say that, while he didn't cross out the possibility of returning, Ninja is venturing onto interesting projects outside of the games industry altogether.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
