Fortnite is no stranger to themed events to celebrate holidays and big days, and it looks like a new one is right around the corner. Fortnite is going to be ringing in the new year. If a Fortnite leaker is to be trusted, fireworks are coming to Fornite in an in-game event, and Fortnite leaker @InTheShadeYT has given fans the footage of what it looks like.

Be warned, do not scroll down any further as to not be spoiled for the New Year's fun. The video of the event is posted below, which is to take place on the holiday. Because there seems to be very little interactive aspect of the event, the leaked video very much spoils the bulk of the fun. Many games are celebrating the holiday, like Mario Kart Tour celebrating New Year's, and fireworks are a very familiar way to do so.

The video shows a large rift opening up in the sky, followed by a bunch of fireworks going off. The display is very nice, something that many fans will appreciate. Players can stop catching a Snow Flopper for a moment and appreciate the explosions in the sky.

Fortnite dataminers are working in hyperdrive lately (then again it seems as if they always are) with a Gnome gun in Fortnite being the most recent leak. That gun seems to have been a dev weapon only, and not one that will be released to the wild, but one can dream. The fireworks for New Year's, on the other hand, seems more like a surefire bet. Of course, nothing is a fact until it is confirmed by the devs or until it happens, but this is one of the more likely leaks.

Fortnite is continually going strong after battle royale kicked off in July of 2017. It may never reach the heights it did in 2018 and 2019, but the game is still popular beyond what most games could ever dream of and Epic's support for it is ongoing. Recently Fortnite received 120 FPS support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing the game to the next generation of gaming. Dataminers will likely be digging into the game for quite some time to come and interesting leaks will continue to flow forth for a title that will be known as one of the most popular games of the generation.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
