Epic Games rolled out a new update, patch v14.50, for Fortnite on November 3rd. Players can expect some big changes following the Halloween Fortnitemares event.

Fans of Fortnite are no stranger to updates and map changes. Epic Games is well known for keeping their game fresh by adding, changing, and moving map locations, as well as adding seasonal elements, vehicles, and weapons. These changes cause the meta to shift, bringing excitement to all levels of competition with each update.

As expected with patch v14.50, all the Halloween themed areas and decor have been removed from the map. The patch notes did not list anything replacing these areas. With the holiday season around the corner it would be surprising if Epic Games did not add seasonal or holiday themed areas back into the game soon.

The biggest change brought with patch v14.50 is that Galactus has moved. Before update v14.50, Galactus was located on a bright object high in the sky. Players were able to zoom in with a sniper rifle to spot him. Galactus is now located right above The Ruins point of interest. This area was taken over by Midas previously in the Fortnitemares event, and would be a great location for the next villain to take up shop.

The highly anticipated Galactus event has been the talk of the town since he first appeared in the sky. Epic Games has not confirmed the date for the Galactus event to start. With season 4 ending on November 30th, it would make sense for the event to arrive in the next couple of weeks. Some leaks of the upcoming event have been posted on the internet which show Thor, She-Hulk, Wolverine, and Iron Man suiting up to fight Galactus. Patch v14.50 brings with it Iron Man's Jetpack, further hinting that the leaks may be spot on.

Leakers found a series of files that were added for a "winter village." These files suggest that a winter themed point of interest may be introduced to the map soon. The winter village point of interest has not been confirmed, but with the upcoming season it seems likely that this area will be implemented.

Overall, the Fortnite update v15.40 mostly offered up a few bug fixes, and the removal of the Fortnitemares themed areas. The biggest changes brought about by this patch is the location change of Galactus, and the introduction of Iron Man's Jetpack.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
