Fortnite recently launched Chapter 2 Season 2 in its battle royale mode, adding a number of map changes and new features to the game. This includes the introduction of new Mythic weapons, which are gold-tier weapons that deal incredible damage. While it's true that Fortnite players have to put in some work to actually get their hands on a Mythic weapon in the game, many feel that they are overpowered.

In Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, players can now kill special NPCs at the new locations on the map to gain access to a keycard. These keycards in turn open Fortnite vaults which house the Mythic weapons. At the time of this writing, there are five Mythic weapons in Fortnite: Scar Assault Rifle, Boom Bow, Minigun, Heavy Assault Rifle, and Drum Gun. All of these weapons are incredibly powerful, but two in particular have been pointed out as being especially overpowered in Fortnite.

It seems many Fortnite players think that the Drum Gun and Minigun are overpowered in the game. Fortnite pro Ninja recently used the weapons in a stream, and even he remarked on their unfairness. He apologized to players he killed using the Drum Gun, and pointed out how the Minigun was so accurate that it was like a laser.

Considering how many people seem to think that the new Fortnite Mythic weapons are overpowered, it's possible that Epic Games will decide to nerf them in future updates or event vault them. For those who may not be terribly familiar with Fortnite, Epic often removes weapons and items from the game and adds them to the "vault." Sometimes these vaulted weapons and items are reworked and added back, but other times they never return to the battle royale game.

Since the Mythic weapons seem to be a big part of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 theme this time around, it seems unlikely that they are going to be removed entirely. If Epic does anything to them, it will likely just try to balance them.

Just like any other season of Fortnite, there will likely be many changes in the game beyond just the Mythic weapons. As Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 moves forward, fans can expect a slew of new content added on a regular basis, including a Deadpool skin and much more.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
