It's an exciting day for Fortnite players as Epic Games has finally completely fulfilled its promise to reward players due to the unfortunate server outages last week. Starting today, Battle Royale players are being gifted 20 Battle Pass Stars, and double XP through Sunday, April 22. On the other side, Save the World players are getting an additional 1600 seasonal gold and a free Storm Llama for logging into the mode. The free llamas are for this weekend only, so log in starting today through Sunday to collect all four.

Today also marks the start of week 9 in Battle Royale, presenting a new set of challenges and opportunities to earn battle stars. Alongside the addition of the revamped 50v50 mode, players also have a new treasure map to follow. First things first, the map can be found in the southern location known as Moisty Mire. The map's starting location points to a triangle of trees that surround a house. Thankfully, a formation like that can be seen from the map to the southeast of Retail Row, so start there.

For the next part, players need to walk in a striaght line to a house with double chimneys. The location isn't terribly far away as players should start heading to the left, eventually finding a house with two chimneys to the southwest of Retail Row. Simply climb up to the chimneys and the battle star will appear. Alternatively, players can simply drop into the house at the start of the match to get the star as well.

Of course, week 9 has a variety of different challenges to work on as well. Here's everything players need to know for week 9 in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Deal Damage to Opponents Structures (5 Battle Stars)

An easy challenge that will be earned over time, players basically need to deal 5000 damage to player made structures. This challenge can be earned over multiple matches and doesn't require players to deal all 5000 damage in a single match.

Found in the Northwestern area of the Battle Royale map (B2-B3), players will need to track down and open 7 golden chests to satisfy this challenge. Keep in mind that all 7 do not need to be opened during a single match.

Build Structures (5 Battle Stars)

Pretty much the complete opposite of the first challenge, players simply need to construct 250 structures to complete this one. Considering that building is one of Fortnite's core mechanics, this one should be pretty easy to earn for most, if not all, players.

Visit Different Taco Shops In a Single Match (5 Battle Stars)

Currently, there are five Taco Shop locations scattered around the Fortnite Battle Royale map. For more details on this challenge, make sure to consult our guide.

Players can find them at the following locations:

  • Tilted Towers – Found on the western side of the city
  • Tomato Town
  • Retail Row
  • Small village to the West of Tilted Towers (C5)
  • Small village to the South of Shifty Shafts (D8)

(Hard) Follow the Treasure Map in Moisty Mire (10 Battle Stars)

See above.

(Hard) Shotgun Eliminations (10 Battle Stars)

Shotguns have received a few changes over the past month but remain a very popular weapon choice. Get five kills with any shotgun to finish this challenge.

(Hard) Eliminate opponents in Lucky Landing (10 Battle Stars)

The location challenge this week asks players to head to the southern most point known as Lucky Landing and earn 3 eliminations. Typically not know as a hot spot of activity, players should expect plenty of action over the next 7 days or so as most players try and finish this challenge. Either way, it's a good time to go there.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
