It seems like Fortnite achieves some crazy new feat every week, whether it's with concurrent viewers on a YouTube stream or peak players within a month. Now, the supremely popular battle royale game's mobile version has hit another impressive milestone, earning Epic Games a cool $300 million within the first 200 days on the IOS app store, according to a new report.

This is an impressive timeline to earn such an insane amount of revenue. For instance, the wildly popular mobile game Clash Royale took 249 days to earn the same amount of revenue, meaning Fortnite players have been investing quite a bit more into the game. Pokémon Go, however, did manage to hit $300 million within the first 113 days, which makes it the fastest game to achieve that number of all time. Fortnite has also outpaced PUBG Mobile's earnings since it's release on the mobile platform.

Fortnite Mobile Revenue

This number shakes out to Fortnite players spending an average of about $1.5 million on the game per day on the IOS version alone. It's also estimated that players have spent about $60 million on the Android version since private beta codes went out on August 9th.

The big question now is when Epic's success will start to peter out. The battle royale genre may just be a fad, but it certainly seems to be a long lasting one as far as fads are concerned. As long as Epic continues to pump out new content and limited time events, it's unlikely that the audience will die. The developer has now held its rightful place as king of the genre for quite some time, and will likely live on well after the battle royale genre dies out - much like League of Legends and DOTA 2 have with MOBAs

Epic's success with Fortnite is now reaching uncharted levels of extreme. Minecraft had a similar effect on the industry when it first launched, but certainly not at this scale or speed. Time will tell how Epic chooses to use this success in its future endeavors, but, hopefully, the studio will continue to reinvest the success into the community and engine as in the past.

Fortnite is available now on just about every platform imaginable.
