The key to achieving a victory royale in Fortnite Battle Royale is to know the game and its map well. It stands to reason that players who know exactly how the game works, know the best locations, and the most effective weapons are going to do better than players who do not.

A new diagram put together by Fortnite Battle Royale players aims to help people out on that front. The diagram reveals several key distances that could help players put together a winning strategy, or, at the very least, it could help them to stay out of danger and avoid their opponents.

The first bit of data discovered by the players is that each map square in Fortnite Battle Royale is 250 square meters (250 meters x 250 meters) and when traveling across a square vertically or horizontally, it will take players approximately 45 seconds if they are running at full speed. Meanwhile, a square is 354 meters diagonally and will take players 64 seconds to get across.

This information is especially useful for players who often find themselves lost to the storm. At least now, players can figure out exactly how much time they have to loot, scope out a location, and run to the new circle before the storm begins to close in.

The diagram also explains that the audio range for sniper gunshots is 250m which is the equivalent to the entire length or width of a square. According to anecdotal player evidence, sniper shots can certainly reach that far, meaning that if players can hear a sniper gunshot they are probably in the range of being hit with one too. The final piece of information revealed by the diagram is that building tiles are 5.12m x 5.12m, which may also be useful for players trying to hotfoot it across the map.

Fortnite Battle Royale players have come up with a lot of effective methods for winning, from deadly traps that are almost too effective to be true to just hiding and letting everybody else do the brunt of the work. But this diagram could help any player trying to do better in the game and secure themselves a victory royale, whether they're hiding out and playing it safe, or going completely gung-ho.

Chances are, the game's new map update will produce even more strategies and tips for getting ahead. Likewise, the release of new items may also shake up the Fortnite Battle Royale meta. One of the best parts of the game is watching how everyone puts all of the pieces together.
