A new Fortnite leak shows off some major upcoming map changes potentially coming in Season 5. In a tweet by prominent Fortnite leaker Mang0e, there looks to be a variation of the Colossal Coliseum point of interest.

As a Battle Royale that is consistently updating, fans are always looking out for leaks that reveal events or changes Epic Games could add. Put in the game for Season 5, Colossal Coliseum is one of the newer points of interest available for players. Like the real Colosseum, this area houses a sandy floor with random structures surrounded by stairs and a balcony.

From the leak by Mang0e, it seems as though Epic Games is evolving the overall theme of the arena to match a different historical aspect of the Colosseum. The picture reveals a variation to the sandy rectangular floor that is now one full of water. Rather than the randomized structures that appear in the current version, the image has two ships with docks around them. From the tweet, it is unclear whether the stairs and balcony portion of Colossal Coliseum are changing, if at all.

Should the variation from the leak come to Fortnite, it would be a change that has basis in fact. It is true that the Colosseum was filled with water for naval combat, as Mang0e mentions in a later tweet. Since the alteration to Colossal Coliseum tweaks the main area, it will likely change how loot spawns work. The two ships docked in the bay should offer players a change to the overall strategy when battling as well.

Epic Games is no stranger to updating the map in Fortnite to keep battles fresh and exciting for fans. Since this image comes from a reliable leaker, there is a good chance the variation will actually appear in game. A homage to historical Colosseum battles, the change shown in this leak should be an awesome addition. Interesting seasonal map changes keep the game from getting stale too. Players will no doubt have plenty of unique strategies and hilarious moments while facing off in the nautical themed arena.

Unfortunately, since this is a leak there is no official confirmation that this variation will appear in Fortnite anytime soon. Mang0e does not provide any release dates along with the tweet, so it could be a while before any players get to experience this version of Colossal Coliseum. That could be fine for some fans, who may view feature changes as controversial for this point of interest, which was just put in the game recently. However, Fortnite is the type of game that keeps on giving, so the fact that this variation is appearing in the files should be an indication of the good things to come.

Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
