Epic Games' hit free-to-play battle royale, Fortnite, had quite an interesting year in 2020. From the game's expansive map becoming almost completely covered in water, to the addition fan favorite Marvel POI's during its Marvel-themed season. And with a bounty hunter theme in Fortnite's most recent season, fans were greeted with even more changes to the game's map.

Although a bounty hunter theme is much more general than something like an entire season based on Marvel properties, Epic Games of course found ways to continue to bring crossovers to the game in its most recent season with the addition of The Mandalorian. As The Mandalorian came to Fortnite, along with his deadly Amban Sniper Rifle, he brought along his crash-landed Razor Crest gunship as a POI on the map, which may be seeing some changes in the future.

On Twitter, Fortnite leaker InTheShadeYT made a post mentioning that it is likely that players could see changes to the Razor Crest crash site POI later on in Chapter 2 Season 5. While this certainly isn't news as POI's in Fortnite have changed throughout the course of a Season in the past, this could be one of the biggest major changes coming to the map since the game started its newest Season.

Although this information comes from a Fortnite leaker on Twitter, this particular leak was not something that was datamined, as Epic Games employees reportedly revealed this information during a livestream, though it's currently not known whether it was revealed intentionally or not. A concept artist at Epic Games is believed to be the one who revealed this information. Currently, it is unknown whether the changes to the Razor Crest crash site will simply be cosmetic or include something more involved like the Beskar armor Quests. For now, the most popular theory seems to be that the crash-landed gunship will be repaired, just as it is time and time again in The Mandalorian.

On Twitter, InTheShadeYT mentions that other potential changes to the game's map have been datamined, despite this particular rumor reportedly coming straight from an Epic Games employee. Additionally, the leaker mentions that the Mandalorian currently has both a placeholder Pickaxe and a placeholder Back Bling in the game's files, possible hinting at even more content from Star Wars or The Mandalorian coming in the future.

As Season 5 Week 5 has just kicked off, Fortnite continues to keep players busy with the completion of weekly challenges and the like. But for now, only time will tell if these rumored changes to the Razor Crest POI will come to fruition in the new year.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
