Fortnite Chapter 2 has been out for a few months now, and so far, the game has had a bunch of crossover events with some of the most popular entertainment franchises out there. There was a Fortnite x Batman event, and a Fortnite x Stranger Things event as well. Epic Games has been busy keeping its game fresh with these ambitious crossovers and rewarding players with some rewards. The recent crossover with Star Wars took place just a couple of days ago, and it was one of the biggest live events so far.
The Fortnite x Star Wars event was so big that Epic Games’ launcher was unable to handle the number of players trying to log in at the time of its launch. Mostly special crossovers like this bring a bunch of new skins, weapons, and other items, but the Star Wars event, in addition to all the skins and items also brings a scene from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker movie.
Apart from that, Epic also released lightsaber into its battle royale during the Star Wars event. For a limited time, players will be able to grab a lightsaber in-game and use it during their match. The lightsabers are available in a special blue chest spread all over the map. Here’s how to get one in a match.
How to Get Lightsabers in Fortnite
There are two ways players can get their hands on a lightsaber; killing an enemy that has a lightsaber or find the special blue chests. Killing an enemy may not be the most comfortable option out there, so it’s better to look for the special chests. The chests that contain lightsabers are not regular Fortnite chests; instead, these are glowing blue chests that make a lightsaber noise when players are close to it. The spawn locations of these chests are entirely random, but they appear the most in Frenzy Farm and the Slurpy Swamp, based on different players’ experience. Now is an excellent time to go out there and grab a lightsaber for some epic duels, but keep in mind that guns trump lightsabers, at least in Fortnite.
