As one of the most popular games recently, Fortnite has dealt with its share of leaks. Previously, new skins and even the trailer for the game's second chapter leaked online ahead of schedule. However, the most recent speculation seems to indicate that recent changes and additions to the massive battle royale may be building up to another doomsday event that will drastically alter the game's world as fans know it.

Leading up to Fortnite Chapter 2, developer Epic Games previously unleashed a black hole onto the game's map, effectively ending the world. This reset allowed Epic to institute some major gameplay changes and unveil a new map in time for the next season. While not much time has passed since then, Twitter leakers and data miners like FortTory seem to believe that the game is preparing for a similar event.

According to recent tweets, Epic Games recently added a Doomsday Device, Doomsday Hatches and Doors to Fortnite's assets. The five Doomsday Hatches are currently surrounding the Agency. While the Doomsday Device has not appeared in-game yet, FortTory believes it will appear in another secret addition to the map. When entering Agency character Midas's room, there may be a secret passageway - and some believe the Device will appear in this room.

While some replies theorized that the hatches would lead back to the original map, others think that it might advance the ongoing storyline about the Agency and the organization SHADOW. Since the last apocalypse was made to replace the old map, it isn't likely that Epic would revisit its old content so soon. Such speculation is likely what dissatisfied Fortnite fans want. Ultimately, Epic has not commented on the latest leaks, so until more information comes out, it's best to take these assets and speculation lightly. They might end up not being used for a doomsday event, if they are used at all.

However, in the time that Fortnite's world is still around, fans still have plenty to enjoy. Currently, players are enjoying the game's latest crossover with Deadpool, and new skins are also coming soon. Until the world ends in the game, Fortnite will continue to evolve.

Fortnite is available to play now on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
