It would be fair to say that Fortnite and emotes go hand in hand, and Epic Games just keeps adding more ways for fans to show their emotions in its extremely popular third-person shooter. Just last week, for example, a meme-inspired Rick Astely Rickroll emote was added to Fortnite, and now it seems that the developer is looking to take things even further with the introduction of an entirely new emote type.

Indeed, the beginning of a new season in Fortnite means that it is time for data miners to get busy sifting through game files in an attempt to uncover as many unannounced details about the game's future as they can. That is exactly what is happening right now, thanks to the recent launch of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, and already these data miners have been successful, locating something that has never been seen in the game before: "shout" emotes.

As the name suggests, shout emotes are an audio-based emote type, and it appears that a number of them will be available in Fortnite quite soon. So far, data miners have located eight Fortnite shout emotes in the game files, all of which can be heard in the video below, and their sources range from memes, to movies, to big moments in the game's history. Very likely, these eight shout emotes are only the beginning, though, and it seems reasonable to expect Epic to add more down the line.

With respect to exactly when the first batch of Fortnite shout emotes will be available for fans to use in-game, that is not currently known. However, there is plenty for players to do in-game now that Chapter 2 Season 2 has begun, such as check out the various changes that have been made to Fortnite's map, and that may make it easier for fans to wait for shout emotes to arrive.

Additionally, players can occupy themselves by completing the week one Fortnite Deadpool challenges, which will have them searching for a hidden letter and giving the bus driver the cold shoulder. Ultimately, it is expected that finishing these challenges will give fans access to a special skin, which may indeed be released around the same time as the shout emotes featured here.

Fortnite is out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
