For many Fortnite fans, it's been an extremely interesting couple of months for the popular battle royale title. Season 4 saw a massive Marvel collaboration, bringing iconic heroes and villains into the game, while also spinning off a few comics as well. The season ultimately ended with a massive battle against the humongous villain Galactus, once again changing the map and ushering in season 5 with even more iconic heroes joining the fray.

The biggest reveal at the start of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 was the addition of The Mandalorian along with a special back bling that has Grogu aka Baby Yoda. However, Epic Games has hinted that this season will be much more than a Star Wars focused affair, with new hunter characters being added over the weeks and months of the current season. So far, they've been right by surprising all players with the addition of Kratos from Sony's God of War franchise.

Recent teases have also indicated that Microsoft's Master Chief is also getting the same treatment with dataminers discovering a new skin of the iconic Halo character within the Fortnite game files. However, more details have been uncovered including a special Halo themed limited time mode.

According to FNBRUnreleased on Twitter, a trusted source of theirs seemingly confirmed the upcoming LTM as a Capture the Flag style mode which takes place on a special map designed to look like the classic Halo 2 map, Coagulation which is a variation of the classic map, Blood Gulch. In addition, the launch of Master Chief and this LTM is expected to arrive inside of Fortnite update 15.10, though FNBRUnreleased does make sure to indicate that this isn't set in stone quite yet and the date could change.

With Sony and Microsoft getting exclusive characters inside of Fortnite, players have begun to look at what other platforms such as Nintendo could be getting. So far, the most common opinion is that Samus Aran from the Metroid series, would be a good candidate to represent Nintendo inside of Fortnite. While Nintendo probably wouldn't like to have Mario wielding a gun, adding Samus makes a bit more sense as she's a bounty hunter who is well versed in shooting alien creatures.

Guest characters don't appear to be restricted to certain gaming companies either as another rumor making the rounds highlights the Predator being added as a hunter sometime this season as well. Players have discovered a few teases in a location called Stealthy Stronghold heavily implying a Predator crossover of some kind. Outside of the teases, however, not much is known regarding a potential character skin or mode similar to Halo.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
