Batman fans have been able to play as their favorite caped crusader in Fortnite for a while now, but more Batman content may be coming soon. Batman was added to Fortnite back in Season 6, but according to a leaker, a new crossover event will be coming to the game.
According to a Fortnite leaker known as Shiina on Twitter, Batman x Fortnite will happen on October 16, taking place during the DC FanDome Livestream. According to Shiina, the crossover event will likely have something to do with a Batman comic that releases on October 26. Recent Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comics have crossed over with Fortnite and have added to the plot of the game.
Shiina noted that the upcoming Batman x Fortnite crossover event may be related to the upcoming movie instead of the comic. The Batman is set to release early next year, starring Barry Keoghan and Robert Pattinson. Shiina didn't specify whether the event will coincide with the ongoing Fortnite story about the invading aliens. Other DC heroes being represented during Season 7 of Fortnite include Beast Boy, Raven, and Superman.
Shiina is a known Fortnite leaker and has unveiled details ahead of time in the past. Shiina has previously gotten information about battle passes, new seasons, skins, and more correct. The leakers' reliability doesn't ensure the validity of the new Batman x Fortnite crossover event, but the information has more substance to it than if they hadn't gotten things right in the past. Shiina has also suggested that Epic Games is working on Naruto and new Suicide Squad cosmetics.
According to Shiina's recent leak, the new Batman x Fortnite crossover event will take place during the next season of the game. Fortnite Season 7 comes to a close on September 12, and it just received one of its final patches going into the new season. Epic Games has teased future content in dialog options and environmental storytelling to set up Fortnite Season 8 but hasn't confirmed the Batman x Fortnite crossover.
Being that Fortnite x Batman leads to an upcoming comic book and there's a new movie coming out soon, the three projects could all be related. The Batman may be teased in the comic book and in Fortnite battle royale alike. Considering Fortnite has previously received a movie trailer for Christopher Nolan's Tenet, the upcoming Batman x Fortnite may leave fans anticipating the new movie.
If Batman x Fortnite ends up happening during the next season, Batman fans may be greeted with a new skin or a variant to their existing ones. Currently, the Christian Bale Batman is represented alongside Armored Batman Zero, Batman Zero, and Batman Comic Book outfit. Batman fans who also play Fortnite will have to wait until October 16 to know what to expect from the crossover event.
