Over the past year or so, Fortnite has seemed hellbent on bringing as many video game characters from popular outside franchises as possible to its own. Fortnite's impressive crossover roster continues to grow even further with this season's addition of Lara Croft.

The Tomb Raider protagonist was initially introduced as one of Fortnite Season 6's Battle Pass skins. The cosmetic of the heroine archaeologist includes both her "classic" look with aqua tank top and shorts, along with her appearance from the more recent Square Enix-produced reboot trilogy. Square Enix has mentioned the development of another Tomb Raider title, which will supposedly unify the aesthetics of the recent games with the series' earlier entries.

Where is Lara Croft's Location in Fortnite

In addition to being a new skin, Lara Croft is currently one of the non-playable characters that players can find wandering around a specific part of the map. Like all of Fortnite's NPCs, she offers players a variety of quests that can be completed to earn Gold Bars. She also now possesses something that pretty much every player will want to get their hands on.

To find her, players will want to head to the northwest area of the map - Stealthy Stronghold, to be exact. Being a dense jungle-like environment filled with ruins, the location is most fitting, emulating the typical environment Lara finds herself in. While there aren't any tombs to raid in the left-of-center building where she's located, she does offer players a different kind of treasure: the new Grappler Bow.

The Grappler Bow is a powerful new Exotic weapon, dealing 89 damage per shot with a headshot multiplier of 2.5x. But what really sets it apart from the rest of Fortnite's bows is in the name - its grappling ability. A drastic improvement from the grappling gun from seasons past, the Grappler Bow has the ability to grapple onto virtually everything, even opponents.

In addition to being able to instantly scale heights or close distances during a fight, grappling prevents players from taking fall damage, no matter the drop distance. This could prove to be an indispensable mechanic for players, so much so that there's a chance some may consider having it removed from competitive playlists, as they similarly did with another Exotic weapon.

Beyond offering players quests and Exotic weapons, players will soon have the chance to play as the iconic character alongside Horizon Zero Dawn's Aloy in a special limited-time mode. The "Team Up! Aloy and Lara LTM" was initially slated for April 16, but has been delayed until April 23-25 due to a glitch that prevented it from showing up as a selectable option.

The LTM has players as either Aloy or Lara Croft in a Duos match, where Aloy player would be limited to Bow weapons, while the teammate as Lara Croft would be limited to Dual Pistols. Crafting and upgrading weapons is intended to be a major focus of the LTM as well, since players will be severely limited in their choices.

Finding Lara Croft and her fancy new Exotic weapon is a fairly easy task, although staying alive may be a different story. Given that it was just released yesterday, Stealthy Stronghold will likely be filled with gamers trying to nab the Grappler Bow. Taking advantage of something like the unlimited heal glitch may be the difference between an early elimination and a victory royale.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
