The Hammer Assault Rifle made its debut in Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 3, and it is now at the center of a weekly quest. Specifically, this quest requires players to land five headshots with the weapon from a distance of 40 or more meters, and that may seem like a fairly difficult thing to do upon first glance. However, there is actually a very easy way to complete this Fortnite Week 6 challenge, and full details on how to approach the task can be found in this guide.

Fortnite: Land Headshots from 40 or More Meters with the Hammer Assault Rifle

The first step toward completing this quest is to obtain a Hammer Assault Rifle, and the weapon can be found in chests, in supply drops, and as floor loot. Indeed, the absence of a finite source for the Hammer Assault Rifle means that players may need to spend a bit of time searching Fortnite's map for it. The weapon does come in all rarities, though, and it is thus not extremely elusive.

With a Hammer Assault Rifle in hand, players should set their sights on Rocky Reels, a location on the south side of the map. Upon arriving at this location, fans should find Mancake, a Fortnite NPC that is adorned with a cowboy hat and bandolier. This character will serve as the target upon which to land headshots, and players should put a waypoint on Mancake and then challenge him to a duel.

Once the duel has been initiated, fans should move away from the NPC until the waypoint that they placed previously indicates that they are beyond 40 meters. Mancake has extremely-low accuracy from this distance, and this allows players to fire upon him without much resistance. So long as these Fortnite fans put some effort toward directing these shots at the NPC's head, it should not take long for them to get the five headshots that are required for completing the quest.

With respect to what players will earn for landing five headshots from 40 or more meters with the Hammer Assault Rifle, the reward is 15,000 XP. While that should not come as much of a surprise, as this is the standard amount awarded for completing weekly quest, it is certain to be appreciated nonetheless. Indeed, this XP will give players a nice boost toward the higher tiers on Fortnite's Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass.

Fortnite is currently free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
