Fortnite announces the next artist to feature in an in-game musical performance. As part of the upcoming Llama-Rama, DJ Kaskade will be the act players can catch in concert within Fortnite's Party Royale mode.

Epic Games' popular battle royale shooter is no stranger to hosting musical acts. Beginning around two years ago with a surprise Marshmello concert, Fortnite has gone on to host a number of big-name artists, including Deadmau5, Anderson .Paak, and Travis Scott. The shows appear to be profitable for the artists, with reports that Travis Scott made $20 million for his concert.

Kaskade's concert is being brought to fans as part of the Llama-Rama 2021 event, a crossover between Epic-owned titles Fortnite and Rocket League. Players will be able to catch the DJ and producer perform his new Reset EP at the main stage at Fortnite's Party Royale island. The concert will take place at a few different times, the first being Friday, March 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Two follow-up shows will take place the next day, with one at 9:00 a.m. ET, and the other at 2:00 p.m. ET. According to the official Epic Games blog, players can also check out the concert setlist early via Kaskade's latest releases on Spotify.

The concert is meant to give a grand send-off to Rocket League's musical-themed second season. Earlier this month, it was announced that Rocket League Season 2 would be extended by about a month, giving players time to climb the tiers of its battle pass. Rocket League and Monstercat, Kaskade's label, have been collaborating since 2017, so the DJ's appearance doesn't come as too much of a surprise. Beyond the concert in Fortnite, players can complete challenges in Rocket League during Llama-Rama in order to earn themed cosmetics for both games.

The Kaskade concert and Llama-Rama as a whole will likely give Fortnite's playerbase a significant boost. Arguably the most comparable artist the free-to-play title has had so far is Marshmello, who saw incredible success with his performance. The Marshmello concert set the concurrent player record at the time, one that would eventually be eclipsed by Travis Scott, and in turn the Marvel Galactus event. Given in-game concerts have become a regular thing for Fortnite, it's possible a new record could be set this weekend.

The free Kaskade concert should come as great news to fans everywhere, especially considering its the closest many will get to an actual concert anytime soon. However, there are a fair share of Fortnite haters out there, or gamers who aren't big on DJs or EDM. Fortunately, it isn't the only free video game-related concert going on soon. Ace Attorney is getting an online concert, which will feature full orchestral performances of musical selections from the series. Whether fans decide to go for one or both, free concerts are a win for everyone.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
