Epic Games continues to do huge new crossovers in Fortnite, with various skins from franchises of all sorts rolling out on a monthly basis. This latest Fortnite crossover brings the world of League of Legends to the Fortnite universe.

The Fortnite Twitter account recently made the announcement that League of Legends character Jinx has been added to Epic Games' battle royale's Item Shop. Fortnite's Twitter account also changed its profile picture to reflect the addition of Arcane Jinx, with a purple swirl encircling the F from the Fortnite logo. With both League of Legends and Fortnite reaching massive audiences, it's understandable why Epic Games is making a bigger deal about this crossover compared to others in the past.

Both League of Legends and Fortnite are free-to-play games, allowing fans of both to easily try the other. League of Legends has remained a popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena since it was released back in 2009. Fortnite was initially released as a tower defense title with Fortnite: Save the World, but after pivoting to battle royale, it too blew up in popularity. League of Legends and Fortnite both remain near the top of Twitch viewership, with updates, new seasons, and Fortnite crossovers like this one drawing even more viewers.

Just like many other Fortnite skins releasing recently, Arcane Jinx received a reveal trailer the morning of her addition to the in-game Item Shop. The trailer shows Arcane Jinx gliding down on the Bombs Away! glider, skipping around Fortnite's battle royale island, rocking out to punk rock music with an electric guitar, and spraying graffiti on a brick wall. Epic Games has been able to capture the overall attitude of Riot Games' Jinx, and since she has several different looks in League of Legends, the skin may receive variants in the future.

Similar to the release of other new skins, popular streamers such as Ninja and Thegrefg are already streaming Fortnite to Twitch while playing as Arcane Jinx. Both streamers are represented in Fortnite as Icon Series skins, but they still both regularly play as the latest skins added to the Item Shop. Because of the early popularity of Arcane Jinx, several League of Legends fans are requesting the next addition to Fortnite such as Cassiopeia, Gragas, Pyke, and Teemo.

With Jinx being the first League of Legends character to make the jump to Fortnite, the battle royale may receive more characters from the popular MOBA franchise if there's significant demand. It's likely that if more League of Legends characters are added to Fortnite, they'll be among the game's more iconic characters like Jinx. It's currently unclear whether or not Riot Games will add Fortnite characters as cosmetic options for its characters or if the crossover is only expanding on Fortnite's expansive roster.

Fortnite is available right now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
