As many Fortnite fans are likely aware, Season 7 is almost here, which doesn't leave folks with too much time to complete Season 6 Week 10's challenges, much less all of the Battle Pass tasks for S6, for that matter. On top of this, it appears as if Epic Games will be bringing about some map changes in some capacity for the next cycle of content, as players have now discovered that an iceberg topped with a castle is moving closer to the south coast of the island.

As seen in the image below, Fortnite fans can get a look at the wintry-themed castle poised at the tip of the iceberg, with the stone stronghold emitting lights from its windows, indicating that someone–or something–is inside of it. At the moment, there's no telling exactly how this discovery will impact the multiplayer sandbox survival title overall, but there's a good chance that when the iceberg collides with the map that major cosmetic changes will occur.

For those unaware, previous rumors have pointed to the high likelihood of Fortnite getting a winter event of some kind, which has led many to speculate that the game's map will eventually be covered in snow. While this is simply a bit of unproven conjecture at this junction, there is some solid evidence to support the claims. For instance, several leaked audio files point to a snowy landscape being in the cards at some point in the future.

Taking all of this into consideration, we will simply have to wait and find out what purpose Epic intends to give the aforementioned iceberg and castle, and if they wind up giving way to colder climates in Fortnite. The developer has proven time and time again that it's willing to experiment with the map's designs with unexpected in-game events, and with winter right around the corner, it would be a missed opportunity if Epic doesn't celebrate the season in some way, shape, or form.

Fortnite is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
