Fortnite Season 8 has introduced Toona Fish to its ever-expanding cast of characters. Just like Kymera in the previous season, Toona Fish can be customized by picking up collectibles around the map, or by completing certain tasks.
To unlock the Cube Assassin Toona Style in Fortnite, players must locate and defeat one Cube Assassin. Despite their name, they are not found near any of the various cubes scattered about this season's map.
Where to Find Cube Assassin in Fortnite Season 8
Fortnite players can locate a Cube Assassin in the tiny Sideways anomalies. These are the small purple symbols on the map, but they won't stay in the same place during a match, and their next location can't be predicted. Don't search the large purple Sideways area that stays in the same place during a match, as the Cube Assassin cannot be found here.
Once players find a Sideways rift, walk towards it to activate a Sideways encounter in Fortnite. The Cube Assassin isn't guaranteed to spawn during an encounter, but if they do, it won't be at the start of the fighting. Players must wait up to 30 seconds until she appears, and the Sideways monsters will still be there as well. Make sure to get the assassin's health down before the event times out to complete the task.
How to Defeat Cube Assassin in Fortnite Season 8
The Cube Assassin is no pushover. Players should make sure they have full health and shields before entering the Sideways in search of a battle. A spare medkit and shield potion in Fortnite will help as well. A one-on-one wouldn't be too difficult, but the Cube Monsters will continue to attack players when they start battling the assassin.
If players are struggling and need some help, make sure to open the purple chests that appear during the encounter for potential healing items, guns, and ammo. Ammo will also drop as loot when the monsters are defeated.
Take aim at the Cube Assassin's head to take the most damage off. Jumping will help to avoid her gunfire and getting hit by the Cube Monsters. She will shield herself at a certain point in the fight, but all players need to do is go around to the other side and continue to fire at her head for the quickest takedown. She must be defeated before the encounter ends to finish the task. Players have until the end of Fortnite Season 8 to tick off this task.
As always, playing with a friend in Fortnite will make this challenge easier. They can help keep the monsters at bay, or deal damage to the assassin as well. Just make sure the player who needs to clear the challenge gets the last hit.
