For exactly two weeks, Fortnite players can participate in the holiday-themed Winterfest 2021 event. There's a lot going on in the battle royale game right now, from free daily gifts at the Cozy Lodge, to daily quests that players can complete to earn loads of extra XP towards the Battle Pass. The new Winterfest challenge for Thursday, December 23, requires players to find and use one of the Holiday Presents! items during a match. unfortunately, this item falls under the legendary tier, making it difficult for players to locate. Also, it only spawns as random floor loot, and not in chests.
Tips for Finding the Holiday Presents Item in Fortnite
- Players should travel to locations that have lots of chests and houses to scour through.
- Going to named points of interest far from the center of the map can be helpful, as there are bound to be fewer enemies hanging around, making it easier to look for loot. Since this item drop is random, there's no specific place to find it immediately.
- The presents thrown by Sgt. Winter on the Christmas truck do not count towards this Winterfest quest.
- These listed locations tend to have lots of floor loot to grab, so these can be great spots to tackle: Greasy Grove, Ruins south of Sanctuary, Chonker's Speedway, Butter Barn, temple area outside Daily Bugle, Sleepy Sound, Christmas tree at Rocky Reels.
How to Use the Holiday Presents
Once players finally have their hands on this legendary Fortnite item, they can throw it on the ground and it turns into a large gift box. Rare loot will also appear inside of the box when players use it, giving them an advantage during the match. If players are looking for a stronger gun, or perhaps a healing item of some sort, they should use the Holiday Presents! item. Since it's legendary, players should hold onto it for as long as possible, but if they don't have a use for it, they can always store it in a tent and use it for the next Fortnite match.
If players want to kill two birds with one stone, they should be on the lookout for ice machines and coolers around the island, as one of the Season quests requires players to search through five of them.
