There's no doubt that myriad Fortnite Battle Royale fans are diving into the free-to-play title to tackle the Valentine's Day 2019 Event's new addition of Overtime Challenges so as to get totally caught up with the game ahead of its Season 8 update. On top of making the V-Day 2019 event live, Epic Games has also added the Heartspan Glider to obtain in Fortnite Battle Royale's item shop, and players can get it for free.

The trick to receive Fortnite's Heartspan Glider is to receive it as a gift from another player, and in order give gifts, one must enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on their Epic Games account. This can be done by visiting the link right here, where players will be able to choose to authenticate through email or an authenticator app. Once 2FA has been activated, the glider can be sent to a player of one's choosing, but in order to receive it in kind, though, it's important to coordinate with a friend so that they will reciprocate by sending the item as a gift, too.

It must be noted that Fortnite Battle Royale players won't be able to send and receive the Heartspan Glider as a free gift for too much longer, as Epic Games is only allowing gifting of the gliders on February 14 and 15, with the promotion ending on Friday at 7:00 PM ET. So, with this being the case, those who wish to gift or get the item at no additional cost would do well to enact two-factor authentication on their accounts as soon as possible and then convince a friend to return the favor.

While many Fortnite Battle Royale fans will be glad to gift and receive the Heartspan Glider for free, it's safe to presume Epic Games will simply be happy if a huge portion of the player base follows through with this incentive to enable two-factor authentication on their accounts. After all, 2FA is a good way to add an additional step to keeping one's account secure from anyone other than themselves trying to gain access to it. Hopefully, more players with 2FA enabled will help curb any potential instances of fraudulent charges occurring in the future.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
