Some of the best ways to get XP in Fortnite involve playing the game in different modes, for an easy chance to reach level 100 in under a week. If players want to learn how to level up fast in Fortnite, then the following methods are tried and tested to get players rising through the XP levels fast.

Updated on February 19, 2024, by Jake Fillery: The final weeks of a Fortnite season can be met with worry or celebration, depending on how attached players are to the loot pool and the maps. Yet, there's one factor that needs addressing, which is the sweet rewards from the Battle Pass. As a season ends, many players might experience the fear of missing out, as once the season is over, there's no way to finish an old Battle Pass. Therefore, the final days might be spent grinding out XP to reach Rank 100 and beyond, to make sure that special collab skins and other rewards are not locked forever. Luckily, this guide includes all the best ways to earn XP in Fortnite, and the most effective XP farms in Fortnite so that reaching Rank 100 will take a matter of days, or perhaps even hours, depending on how many levels the player needs.

LEGO Fortnite XP

Lego Fortnite Leak Reveals New Content

Loading into LEGO Fortnite, players can earn 30,000 XP every 15 minutes. This means that in just under 45 minutes, they will earn a level-up. Whilst that may seem like a long time, players can simply leave LEGO Fortnite open in the background, remaining AFK without the worry of getting kicked. Players can use this Fortnite XP Farming method in survival mode or creative, and earn up to 420,000 XP a day before the cap sits in, then they will have to wait for the daily reset. That's around 5 levels a day, just from standing still in LEGO Fortnite.

Fortnite Festival XP

Earn 420,000 XP (5+ Levels) In 3.5 Hours

Fortnite Festival also has its own method of receiving XP, and to get this, players simply need to head to the Jam Stage. Once here, players can head to any stage, or even stand where they spawn, and play an instrument. Doing this will ensure that they do not get kicked for going AFK. For every 15 minutes spent here, players will earn 30,000 XP, to a maximum of 420,000 XP. This means that they can earn 5 levels in Fortnite Festival a day, and combined with LEGO Fortnite, that's 10.5 levels just from doing nothing, but they will need to spare the hours, as both methods will require around 3 and a half hours each.

Save The World XP

Earn 450,000 XP (5+ Levels) In Around 2 Hours

Fortnite - A Screenshot from the Save The World Main Game

One of the original ways to get XP in Fortnite was through Save The World, the PvE experience that came even before the Battle Royale mode. Each level will take around 10 minutes, and although there are AFK methods, they are not as simple as newer methods involving the Big Bang content such as LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival, as players will need to set up a loadout and enter some familiar missions every time, rather than just standing there AFK.

The best STW missions for XP can be found in the first map, Stonewood, and they are looking for Level 5 or under variations of Ride The Lightning and Retrieve The Data. Each run of these could give around 40,000 XP or more, with an XP cap of 450,000. Whilst it may take a few hours, it's still worth it for those in need of XP, although they will have to manually set up the mission and the defenses each and every time.

Save The World Best Loadout For XP

XP can be somewhat passively earned in STW, but players are going to need the right loadout for the job. Whilst it may not be accessible straight away, here's the loadout that players should try and obtain if they want to get their hands on some easy XP, where they won't have to handle the controls as much as they wait for the mission to complete itself with gold medals and more XP:

Legendary Hero

  • Thunder Thora: Electrified Floors+ (Enemies standing on structures affected by B.A.S.E. take 38.1 base Energy Damage every 5 seconds.)

Team Perk

  • B.A.S.E. generates resources based on affected structures. Higher-tier structures generate more resources. Interact with B.A.S.E. to collect.

Support Team

  • Mega B.A.S.E. Kyle: Mega Base (Increase B.A.S.E. connectivity range by 1.)
  • B.A.S.E. Kyle: Lofty Architecture (B.A.S.E. increases Building Health by 28%.)
  • Power B.A.S.E. Kyle: Power Modulation (Structures affected by B.A.S.E. are healed for 4% Max Health every 10 seconds.)
  • The Ice King: Frozen Castle (Enemies standing on structures affected by B.A.S.E. are Snared by 15%)
  • Heavy B.A.S.E. Kyle: Feel The Base (Eliminating enemies standing on structures affected by B.A.S.E. charges B.A.S.E. After 30 charges, B.A.S.E. emits an explosion which knocks back enemies and deals 39 base Energy Damage in a 3 tile Radius.

Having this loadout is essential to being able to solo the levels without lifting a finger, as the building structure will protect the objective, allowing players to sit back and relax and await the completion of the mission.

Ride The Lightning

Around 40,000 XP (Half A Level) In Roughly 10 Minutes

One of the best missions in Save The World for XP is Ride the Lightning. Players can find this in Stonewood, with the Level 3 version being in the Grasslands. Ride The Lightning will see players locate Lars and his van, which they will want to protect from Zombies as they await the timer to hit zero.

To start the activity, players will need 2 BluGlo for the first wave, and 2 more for the second. Players should create a structure and roof around the van to avoid Zombies hitting it or getting close because if Lars’ van gets hit, players will lose XP.

Ride the Lightning can drop around 40,000 XP, and players will only be in this mission for around 10 minutes. This is a confident way to get XP for the Battle Pass, as each successful go at Ride the Lightning will see players receive half a level for the Battle Pass. It's a surprise this hasn't been banned in Fortnite.

Retrieve The Data

Around 40,000 XP (Half A Level) In Roughly 10 Minutes

Retrieve the Data is a mission that certainly requires less effort than Ride the Lightning, and players can find this mission in the Suburbs, Stonewood at Level 5. All players need to do to activate this mission is to look to the sky and find the weather balloon. Once approached, players should build walls around it to stop enemies from hitting the balloon once it reaches the ground.

Players can shoot the balloon to let it pop, allowing for the data cache to drop, and then build a B.A.S.E. on the roof. From here, they can begin the mission, where they will simply need to defend the cache until the time runs out. A team in a public lobby is great here, but using the Thunder Thora loadout is the unstoppable force to make this a Fortnite AFK XP farm.

Once the mission is complete, players can claim their loot chest, and inside will be around 40,000 XP for them to add to their Battle Pass. Players can expect to complete this mission within ten minutes, and they’ll be hitting XP levels in Fortnite faster than most other players.

Creative Mode XP

Earn 200,000 XP (2.5 Levels) In Roughly 2 Hours

Outside of the regular Battle Royale mode, players can find one of the best ways to farm XP in Fortnite through the Creative Mode. Not only does Creative Mode hold plenty of imaginative and well-designed courses for players to enjoy, but it’s also a great source for players to get easy XP in Fortnite. Players can earn up to, or over, 200,000 XP per day in Fortnite’s Creative Mode. Considering each level is 80,000 XP, players can rank up near to 3 times, through a variety of different ways.

Players can enjoy a bounty of different levels, from player-created story content to parkour courses, deathmatches, and many more. The content is endless in Creative Mode, and players will earn XP every 15 minutes whilst playing or hitting objectives, and accolades, such as eliminating other players, getting through levels, or even finding secret XP tokens in the level itself.

The Pit

The Pit is a free-for-all deathmatch, where players can test out almost every gun in Fortnite, as well as the wacky weapons from the past. Inside The Pit, players can make their loadouts, and drop into the arena below. Every kill will grant XP, and headshot eliminations provide even more XP, well over 8,000. Players can utilize the XP resources in The Pit to max out their Fortnite Creative XP cap for the day, and try and get better at aiming and shooting whilst they're here.

UEFN XP

Earn 400,000 XP (5 Levels) In 4 Hours

Another way to help explain how to get XP fast in Fortnite is the new addition of UEFN. “Unreal Editor for Fortnite”. Players can earn XP through UEFN Maps, but only after an hour of playtime. Some of the best UEFN maps to earn XP are the Epic Games-created maps, like Forest Guardian, with the Island Code “0348-4483-3263”.

Players can earn 400,000 XP in total from UEFN, adding to another large bout of levels for those in need.

However, there are some more-fledged efforts to obtain XP, such as Quests and Milestones, to help players reach the best skins in Fortnite's Battle Pass.

Match Quests

Every day, players will be tasked with completing Match Quests. Everyone receives access to these quests, and players can select one whilst in the lobby, at random. These quests can range from dealing damage to enemies in a certain way or location to even picking up ammo. They're idle quests that don't require too much thought, but upon completing 3 a day, players can earn just under a level.

Weekly Quests

Earn 120,000 XP Per Week, For 12 Weeks

Every Thursday at the Daily Reset, Fortnite players will be given a set of Weekly Quests. These quests can grant around 30,000 XP for every 5 quests completed, and each individual quest can range from 15,000 XP to 30,000 XP. Each week is a different variety of quests that must be completed, and these objectives can see many different players attempt to complete the same challenge, so sometimes it's best to avoid doing it on the same day the quest drops to avoid the competition.

Milestones

Earn 5,000 XP Per Milestone

Milestones come in a variety of stages, usually from 1 to 20. Milestones start out fairly easy, and there seems to be a near-endless supply of them, with each stage granting around 5,000 XP. These can range from easy objectives, like collecting Bars, completing matches, or even thanking the Bus Driver. It's an easy way to find a quest and grab some XP.

Whilst they do not affect the lobbies players enter, they certainly do add a new goal, as players will be tasked with objectives like "Reach 18 players with 2 eliminations", and earn 10,000 XP from it. These quests have many steps, and there are many different ranks to complete before they are all finished.
