Alongside the return of the highly coveted Power Chord skin, Epic Games saw fit to finally introduce the Grill Sergeant skin to its popular battle royale title Fortnite. However, its availability was cut short due to some type of bug currently under investigation by Epic. This bug has a number of complications associated with it from animation glitches to the loss of V-bucks.

When entering a Fortnite lobby, players with the equipped skin reported appearing as a default skin. Then, when dropping into the game, some players have reported only appearing as a disembodied Jonesy head and weapon. In fact, check it out below:

Moreover, the skin was removed from the store after about 6 hours, but it also disappeared from the players' lockers. Those who purchased the skin also noted that there was no V-buck refund, meaning a serious investment was lost for these players. However, they can take some solace in the fact that Epic Games is on top of things:

While it appears to be a simple display issue, it could be any number of things. It's worth mentioning there are reports of players who didn't see the skin in the Item Store at all, suggesting it may not have been intended to make it into the game. That doesn't seem like the likeliest scenario, however, as the Item Shop update was teased before its release.

It's likely Epic will have the skin fixed soon, with players regaining the Durr Burger outfit, or at the very least, getting their V-bucks back. Although many may prefer a more exotic or rare skin, there's no doubt that the mascots (and their associated skins) in the game are very popular. In fact, the latest season 6 rumors suggest that more skins in a similar style will appear throughout the next season as well.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with an Android beta currently underway.
