Fortnite recently completed a season of content called "Nexus War," which starred heroes and villains from the Marvel Comics canon. Black Panther and other Marvel characters are still coming to Fortnite according to a recent trailer, but the game also has a history with representatives from DC Comics. Characters like Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn have appeared as skins in the popular battle royale, and soon they will be joined by The CW's Green Arrow.

Greg Berlanti's Arrow premiered on The CW in 2012 and ended earlier this year, yet it spawned an entire DC Comics television universe that carries on with shows including The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and the upcoming series Superman & Lois. However, Stephen Amell's portrayal of Green Arrow/Oliver Queen no doubt helped to hold the Arrowverse franchise together.

Thus, it makes sense that Fortnite's Green Arrow, with a look inspired by Arrow according to Epic Games, would hold the distinction of being the second exclusive skin for the new Fortnite Crew program. However, Amell had just one comment on Twitter after Fortnite's Green Arrow skin was unveiled today: "Where's the goatee?"

Amell's take on Oliver Queen is notably more clean-shaven than Fortnite's upcoming skin, but considering it was only "inspired" by Arrow, it seems fair that the developers at Epic Games would take a few creative liberties. The Green Arrow skin, alongside a Tactical Quiver Back Bling as well as a Style and Boxing Glove Pickaxe, will be available as part of the January Fortnite Crew Pack. This will become accessible on December 31 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Fortnite Crew is a $11.99-per-month subscription service that offers players access to the current season's Battle Pass as well as whatever unique monthly cosmetics are on offer, plus an extra 1,000 V-Bucks each month. It began on December 2 following the release of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5: "Zero Point," with the first pack including skins for a Fortnite-original character named Galaxia.

Alongside Fortnite Crew, the battle royale recently kicked off its holiday-themed event for 2020. Until January 5, 2021, Fortnite players can take part in the Operation Snowdown event, complete quests that unlock character cosmetics, and play through a series of rotating limited-time modes. For those who are interested and dedicated to the game enough for a monthly subscription fee, a Green Arrow skin could be waiting on the other side of these holiday festivities.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
