Season 5 of Fortnite's Second Chapter is in full swing, which means there are plenty of ways for players to earn XP. New side quests have popped up on the island, despite it being ravaged by the mysterious "Zero Point" found at the center of the map. Landing at Durrr Burger or the Durr Burger food truck is one way to earn some side quest XP, but fans can also go on a gnome hunt over in Sweaty Sands to earn some experience.

The goal of this particular side quest is to track down the three gnomes found around Sweaty Sands. Thankfully, the area to search is relatively small in size, and the gnomes are not too far from one another. This isn't the quest for Beskar Steel, which takes players across the map. With that said, the gnomes are tucked into some strange places, so finding them can be a little tricky.

Behind the Wall

The first gnome is on the eastern side of Sweaty Sands located in the northwest of Fortnite's island. Landing in the parking lot, head into Hotel 23's courtyard; the first gnome is tucked into a corner on the eastern side of the property.

Dumpster Diving

From the first gnome, walk west along the main street of Sweaty Sands, and hang a right at the next intersection. In between the blue and pink buildings that are now on the player's left, there is an alleyway. The gnome is hiding beside a dumpster in the alley.

Under the Pier

From the second gnome, head north out to the beach. Jump right down onto the sand and head underneath the pier. Right at the water's edge, next to some rocks, players will find the final gnome. Say hello, and collect the XP.

The side quest is not too complicated, and with the above video from YouTuber HarryNinetyFour, the gnomes should be a breeze to find. Much like the side quest where players must place a camera over at the Beachside Mansion, with just a little time invested, players walk away a cool 1,000 XP.

There are a number of similarly quick and easy quests for players to take on in Season 5 of Fortnite. Many have crossover appeal with Star Wars, one of the many franchises that is partnering with Fortnite, and in Season 5 players can search for Razor Crest, the Mandalorian gunship.

With a lot more still to come in Season 5 and beyond, there will certainly be more quests to take on. Fans are also eagerly awaiting more information on The Seven, a mysterious group of characters who have been teased once again.

Fortnite is available now on Mac & PC, Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
