It's been an exciting week for Fortnite players as Epic just released update 3.3, adding a new St. Patrick's Day themed series of quests to Save the World as well as new content for Battle Royale players. While fans of the wildly popular PvP side to the game can now hunt for hidden supply llamas and use remote explosives to take down player structures, players have noticed that update 3.3 also seems to have added a strange and potentially major glitch.

While a typical Fortnite Battle Royale Player is only capable of carrying five total items, the newly found glitch allows players to continually pick up weapons and gear beyond the five item limit. On Reddit, killadelph82 posted a video of the glitch in action.

The odd behavior is seemingly triggered by a self-inflicted Boogie bomb, a grenade that causes anyone in its radius to break out into dance for a short duration. For a player with all five slots filled and the boogie bomb in the last slot, throwing it at the ground causes the harvesting tool to become equipped though the weapon reticle remains as it does when a grenade is equipped. In this state, players can pick up as many weapons as they want.

Additional weapons that are picked up seem to stack in a hidden slot behind the currently equipped weapon. The video shows the player dropping the acquired gear, and for each item dropped, there's one that replaces it in the slot until everything is dropped. So far, Epic has yet to comment on the bug and the community is split on how big of a deal this issue actually is. While it's certainly unfair for one player to have access to more gear than others, they would first need to drop the currently equipped items in order to access them as there's no easy way to sort any items beyond the equipped five. In a fast-paced firefight, this isn't an effective strategy.

While players wait for Epic to issue a hot fix, Fortnite got another ratings boost earlier this week when the popular streamer Ninja set a new record for concurrent viewers of a solo streamer on Twitch. He was able to accomplish this by playing Fortnite with some major celebrities like Drake and Travis Scott along with athletes like Steelers receiver Juju Smith Schuster and others. No doubt events like this will continue to keep the mainstream appeal of games like Fortnite going strong.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
