A Fortnite player has found a glitch when using the Shockwave Hammer that causes the user to bounce endlessly. As soon as Fortnite's Chapter 4 Season 1 launched and the trailer was released, fans were able to get an idea of what could be coming once matchmaking was activated and they could jump back into action.

One of the highest points of the season's trailer was seeing Geralt of Rivia holding the new Shockwave Hammer, swinging it around, and bouncing toward enemy players to bring down its brutal force upon them. This was the first look at this completely different weapon type, and although it seemed exciting and made players want to try it out themselves, it also made them fearful of just how powerful it could be when used against them. Although the Shockwave Hammer spawns more abundantly in particular parts of the island, it still can be found all over the place in Epic and Legendary rarity;

The community seems to be divided when it comes to the introduction of the Shockwave Hammer to Fortnite. Some love it and think it brings balance to the game, and some hate countering it and think it's too overpowered. This discussion got even more heated when a fan discovered a glitch that made them bounce infinitely when using the hammer. It seems that if the player is holding a Shockwave Hammer near a body of water, they can use the Bounce option right when the hammer touches the water to make it jump endlessly. So, whenever they press the Jump button, instead of jumping, they'll actually bounce exactly as they would with the hammer. This won't even activate the cooldown that was designed to make it a more balanced weapon.

Even if some fans don't enjoy the Shockwave Hammer, it's still one of the best weapons available this Fortnite season. It could, however, be vaulted eventually not only due to glitches related to it but also because of how strongly the community feels about it. At the end of the day, despite its competitive side, Fortnite is supposed to be fun for everybody. Epic Games tries its hardest to make it innovative but also as balanced as possible so that every player can enjoy it.

It is unknown what the future holds for the Shockwave Hammer and for how long it'll be available outside of Creative Mode. Other items have been quietly removed from Fortnite before due to controversy and the Shockwave Hammer might join the list soon.

Fortnite is available now on mobile devices, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
