Since the debut of its Battle Royale mode, Fortnite has become incredibly popular, as evidenced by streamer Ninja breaking the viewership record again with over 667,000 concurrent viewers. Despite the occasional bugs and issues, such as the double pump shotgun, the game maintains this momentum. Even bugs like this recent one that lets players consume shield potions instantly can’t derail the momentum of this hype train.

The recent bug is very useful for players, as it can save a gamer in a pinch. As noted by  Redditor Tyl0o, the bug needs a Shield Potion (commonly referred to as a shield pot) that restores 50 points to a shield or Bandages and the Rock Paper Scissor emote. Notably, the bug won’t work with other emotes or items such as Medkits. Check it out in action below:

Another Fortnite player noted that this exploit can be recreated by crouching.  This method, however, has mixed results, with some players stating that the streamer Tfue also used the emote but only had that one equipped and thus did not need the emote wheel. Nevertheless, the exploit isn’t hard to pull off, so players may want to put it to good use.

Epic Games also weighed in on the bug and confirmed that it was working on a fix. While it may be a lifesaving maneuver now, it won’t last long. Epic has also recently weighed on how it plans to address the recent weapon swap changes, so the company definitely has its hands full. Presumably, the latter would take priority over the glitch, but the company is hard at work on both issues with the game.

Epic Games didn’t reveal, however, exactly when it’ll be patching the bug, but Fortnite players can expect to see it patched sometime soon. Until then, the bug is prime for exploitation, so those who wouldn’t want to take advantage of such a bug should watch out for others who will.

Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
