Alien Parasites are now appearing in Fortnite, and they have the ability to become attached to a player's head. While there are certainly benefits to serving as the host for an Alien Parasite, there is a notable drawback as well. More specifically, a Parasite will gradually drain the health of the player that it is attached to, and some Fortnite fans may be curious about how they can remove the Alien from their heads and stop that loss-of-health.

To get right to it, the easiest way to lose an Alien Parasite is to jump into one of the many bodies of water that are found across Fortnite's map. Indeed, this action will cause the entity to immediately detach, and players should quickly move away from it to prevent it from jumping back on their heads. It is also possible to get rid of an Alien Parasite by walking through fire, and that method can come in handy when a fan finds themselves in a land-locked location.

Additionally, players can get an Alien off of their heads by taking a bit of damage or entering a prop in Fortnite. While these options are not quite as good as the two that were previously detailed, there are instances where fans may want to use them. In general, though, players that need to get rid of an Alien Parasite should simply look for some water that they can dive into or a campfire that they can enter.

With respect to where these Parasites come from, they can initially be found attached to the heads of the various wildlife in Fortnite. A player that dispatches an infected boar, chicken, or wolf will then have the entity transferred to their head, and it will remain there until it is removed with one of the aforementioned methods. Again, there are reasons to live in symbiosis with an Alien Parasite, and fans may want to avoid getting rid of them right away.

Notably, Alien Parasites are not the only new feature that was added to the game with the recent 17.10 update, as there is also a brand new area for players to access. That area is Fortnite's alien mothership, and indeed it is now possible to enter it by way of abduction. While getting abducted by the mothership does take a bit of effort, the powerful rewards that players can earn at this location make it worth pursuing.

Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
