Fortnite's 17.10 update features some brand new content, including a new area for players to access. That area is the gigantic alien mothership that is looming over the map, and fans must get abducted in order to reach it. For those players that are wondering exactly how to go about getting abducted by the mothership in Fortnite, and about what they will discover when they are inside, full details can be found in what follows.

The first step to getting abducted by the mothership is to locate one of the large crafts that it sends out at the beginning of each match. To do this, players should look for a silver octagon on Fortnite's map, as this marker denotes the position of a vessel, and fans are advised to land at one straightaway. From there, players must simply wait until the storm forms and then remain under the craft until they are pulled up by its tractor beam.

After that has occurred, fans will find themselves trapped in a cell on Fortnite's alien mothership, and they will have a plasma gun in hand. This imprisonment is only temporary, though, as players will soon be sent to a low-gravity area in another section of the ship. This new area serves as the site for a special timed minigame, which offers a variety of rewards contingent upon how well a fan performs.

To provide some clarity on this minigame, the goal is to collect five of the gold Vault Orbs that drop from the sky before the timer reaches zero. Fortnite players can increase the time that they have by coming into contact with the silver orbs that also appear in the area, and they should do their best to avoid falling into the void as they do so. Indeed, such a fall will trigger a relatively lengthy respawn that makes it more difficult to collect five Vault Orbs before time runs out.

With respect to what players will receive for grabbing five Vault Orbs, the prize is being sent to a Legendary Vault. As its name suggests, this Vault is filled with chests that contain Legendary Weapons in Fortnite, and fans that gain access to it will have a big advantage in their matches. Notably, players that fail to collect five Orbs will still be sent to a Vault, but the items that they find in it will not be as powerful as those that are inside of the Legendary Vault.

Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
