Now that the Fortnite World Cup is over, fans of the wildly popular battle royale game are likely excited to see what's coming in season 10. The first official tease came during the Fortnite World Cup Solo Finals (and was later re-posted online) where players are encouraged to "think back" to the days of Dusty Depot. Whatever changes are coming, the launch of season 10 was also given a start date: August 1, 2019.

For newer Fortnite players, Dusty Depot existed way back in the game's early seasons. It was destroyed as a result of the Asteroid event that ended season 3, changing the Depot into Dusty Divot. The divot was barren for the longest time before trees began to grow there and adopt its current form ending in season 9. However, considering this is the first tease and there are often a few teases prior to a season launch, many are wondering if Dusty Depot is the only location making a comeback.

Many have asked if OG factories and sites such as Greasy Grove were returning, and areas like Lazy Links and the winter biome were reverting back to their old state. It's within a realm of possibility that Fortnite is planning to reset the entire map (perhaps not all the way back to season 1) through some convoluted storytelling. Ultimately, it remains to be seen, but it could be accomplished via time travel or some other unknown story element. Maybe it will be a futuristic version of the old map.

Regardless, if Fortnite does fully reset the map back to the days of Dusty Depot, there will be a ton of questions such as what the theme of season 10 will be. It's likely that there will be a new theme focused on however Dusty Depot is brought back, but this throwback could suggest the return of rare OG skins. Of course, this isn't likely to be well-received, as previous returns of Skull Trooper and Power Chord received a lot of negative attention.

We will have to simply wait and see what Fortnite is planning to do concerning the season 10 theme, battle pass, and map changes, but if there is one thing developer Epic Games is good at it, it's building hype within its player base.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
