With Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 nearing its climax with several fun and exciting additions coming to the game, the one addition fans have been looking forward to the most was the addition of the character The Foundation. With every battle pass, Fortnite has used the designated “secret skin” to cross over with several franchise characters, from Deadpool, to Predator, and even Superman. However, on some occasions, the secret skin has been filled by characters important to Fortnite’s overarching narrative, as was the case last season with the introduction of the Cube Queen.

With Season 1 of Chapter 3, that distinction now belongs to The Foundation, the leader of the mysterious group The Seven, who have been active in Fortnite’s narrative since the game’s earliest seasons. The Foundation himself did not appear in the game until the end of Chapter 2 Season 5, where he assisted Agent Jones in containing the Zero Point. The Foundation then returned for the finale of Chapter 2, where it was revealed that the character was played by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Now, players finally have the opportunity to play as the character themselves. Fortnite has now launched a series of quests in-game for players who currently have access to the Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass in order to unlock The Foundation and a series of cosmetics based around the character.

During each game, players now have a series of quests to follow, including visiting specific named locations, dealing a certain amount of melee damage to an opponent, using a number of shield potions in a match, and much more. By completing these quests, players will gain access to several cosmetics, namely The Foundation outfit skin, Foundation’s Mantle Back Bling, Plasma Spike Pickaxe, and more. One item known as the Tactical Visor Toggle Emote allows players to remove The Foundation’s helmet, revealing The Rock underneath, who gives his signature eyebrow raise.

It was only a matter of time until The Foundation was going to be a playable character in Fortnite, and now that he has arrived on the island, players have the opportunity to bring the heat as The Seven’s leader. It will also be prevalent to play as the character with the many teases Fortnite has regarding where it’s narrative is heading.

As many more characters from the Icon series emerge in Fortnite, it's exciting to see a major celebrity play a huge role in Fortnite’s main story. Hopefully we will get to see more star-studded characters take center stage in the future.

Fortnite is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
