Spooky season is here, which means its time for another Halloween event in Fortnite. The v14.30 update patch notes revealed new Fortnite cosmetic items, as well as a new consumable and a new mobility item. Fortnite had downtime for the patch update at 4:00 am EST, on October 13th.
Fortnite has not announced a date for the start of Fortnitemares 2020. In the past the event has always started during the last week of October, and typically started on an update. If Fortnitemares 2020 follows suit, the event should go live on the 27 or 28th of October.
Fortnite leakers iFireMonkey and HYPEX have both released leaks from the patch notes on Twitter, and HYPEX released a video on YouTube on October 13, 2020 showing all of the Fortnitemare skins, pickaxes, back bling, gliders, and emotes.
The Ultimate Reckoning Pack includes skins for Gnash, Violet, and La Parca. Gnash is a pinstriped voodoo man, and sports Lil' Gnashy, a mini version of himself. Violet is a fierce looking skin that rocks razor sharp UV Wings. La Parca Is wrapped in leather and orange roses, and comes with the Reaper's Backplate back bling.
The Crypt Crashers Pack is an all female bundle including Midnight Dusk, Arachne Couture, and Nightsurf Bomber. Midnight Dusk is a stylish vampire rocking pink hair and studded leather gloves. The Arachne Couture skin brings spooky vibes with her eight eyed hat and spiderweb leggings. Nightsurf Bomber dons a dragon llama crop top, and some fierce glowing scars. The back blings included in the pack are the Arachnid Tote, Batty Backpack, and the Firebreather's Daypack. There are 3 pickaxes in the pack; Dark Days, Webspinner's Slice, and Vamp Axe. It appears that there is a Fanged Fashion Pack that will be available for purchase with V-Bucks. This pack will include the 3 pickaxes from The Crypt Crashers Pack, but will not include the skins or back blings.
The Daredevil Bundle will be available with the Daredevil Skin, Radar Senses Backbling, The Devil's Wings Glider, and the Daredevil's Billy Club Pickaxe. The Daredevil skin comes in two styles, Daredevil, and Illustrated Daredevil. The illustrated version looks like it came straight out of the comic book.
New consumables were also included in the patch notes including forged items found in "Candy Buckets." The list of consumables include: Pepper Mint, Hot Drop, Candy Corn, Jelly Bean, and Thermal Taffy. It is unclear if these Candy Buckets will replace the Produce Boxes.
Some map changes have already started popping up in game ahead of the Fortnitemares event. Buildings in popular locations such as Retail Row, Holly Hedges, and Sweaty Sands are now decorated with spiderwebs and Halloween decor. The store outside of Holly Hedges has turned into a Halloween store, complete with a new sign. Ultimately, with all of the changes slated to come to Fortnite, we can expect more map changes to come soon.
Fortnite is available now on the Epic Games Store, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are currently in development.
