Fortnite has continued to be updated frequently and is now on its third season. While some players enjoy updates, others have felt that Fortnite has lost what made it special, citing too many crossovers and challenges as part of the issue. This week's set of challenges have been met with issues that will illustrate the complaints of some, but it does seem to be recognized and actively addressed by Epic Games.

While the battle royale genre is crowdedFortnite has managed to set itself apart with its building mechanics and its crossover events. The game has illustrated imagination as it builds on the conventional enclosing circle and last person standing formula, yet it seems that one challenge is not working this week. Players have been reporting issues with the Floating Rings challenge which seems impossible to complete in its current state.

The Fortnite challenge takes place in Pleasant Park, with players tasked with collecting hovering rings in the area, but there is an issue. Players can not pick up the rings once they have jumped through them and as a result, they can't complete the challenge. This is not the first time that a challenge has been released with issues and the fan base of the game have been quick to report the problem.

Epic Games has responded by acknowledging the issue, and as usual, it seems to be addressing it as quickly as possible. Fortunately, while players wait there are plenty of other activities in the game that are working and also offer some interesting rewards. The Aquaman crossover in Fortnite has proved to be a hit with players and many will focus on these crossover based challenges to claim new skins. Yet, not everyone is pleased.

Despite a large amount of content in the free-to-play game, this latest issue has led to responses from players who have broader issues. Many responses have criticized on-going issues that Epic Games does not seem to be addressing. Unsurprisingly, some of the fans are using this challenge issue as a platform to raise discontent with the state of Fortnite, yet whether they are listened to or not remains to be seen. With a split fan base, it will be interesting to see which fan base the developer appeals to in the future. At the moment, Fortnite appears to be focused on delivering new challenges rather than fixing some of the lingering problems in the game.

Many will be grateful that the challenge seems to be being fixed, although this problem has highlighted the existing frustration at some of the creative decisions made in Fortnite.

Fortnite is available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
