Ever since the beginning of Season 8 in Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games has continued to include a bunch of fresh content for players to engage with, such as the new map changes or the addition of The Baller vehicle. Now, the video game developer has decided to bring a new weapon into the fold that supports some of the pirate themes players have seen with the eighth season, as the Flint-Knock Pistol has officially made its way into the game.

The Flint-Knock Pistol was added to Fortnite by way of the battle royale title's Update 8.11, with the patch notes from Epic Games revealing that players should be able to find it in both Common and Uncommon Rarities, and can be discovered as Floor Loot. When it comes to its attributes, the gun not only knocks back the shooter, but also knocks back the target should one be close enough. Also, the closer one is to the target, the farther they're knocked away with a successful hit. In order to prevent the knockback from happening to the shooter, though, players can crouch to negate the effect.

Fortnite Battle Royale's take on flintlock pistols with the Flint-Knock Pistol gives the gun close range damage of 86/90, but it has a significant amount of damage falloff when used. One drawback of the weapon is that players must reload after each shot, with there being a 3 second reload time. Finally, for those looking forward to using the new weapon, they will need to be on the lookout for Heavy Ammo to keep it supplied with bullets.

Beyond the addition of the Flint-Knock Pistol, Fortnite Battle Royale also used Update 8.11 to bring the Impulse Grenade out of the Vault, with Epic giving the weapon increased strength against vehicles to 344%. What's more is that the latest patch also added the new Limited Time Mode called One Shot, which enables low gravity and restricts player health to just 50, with Sniper Rifles and Hunting Rifles being the only weapons available, and Bandages being the only way to regenerate health.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see how the Fortnite Battle Royale community reacts to the Flint-Knock Pistol's addition, as well as all of the other fresh wares Update 8.11 has in store for players. At any rate, Fortnite fans should expect to see Epic continue to add even more content in the future as the weeks press on in the game.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
