Fortnite players have been experiencing strange episodes of seismic activity recently. This has resulted in several cracks appearing on the ground with vines coming out of them. It is very likely that this will be related to the end of Chapter 4 Season 2 and the start of Season 3.

In order to complete a Week 12 quest, gamers will have to visit the three excavation camps on the battle royale map. These locations might be important for the upcoming Fortnite season, so not only will players earn XP for completing the quest, but they might also gain some insight into what's coming.

Excavation Camp Locations

The excavation camps are all relatively close to each so gamers that want to finish the quest in a single match should be able to do it as long as they don't run into aggressive players. All the camps are near the Anvil Square POI, so players should be careful when approaching them since this location can be quite hectic during the first couple of minutes into a match.

Here is where players can find the excavation camps in Fortnite:

  • In the forest north of Anvil Square, south of Fridgeberg, and west of Icy Islets.
  • In the woods, south of Anvil Square.
  • Southeast of Anvil Square, directly east of Shattered Slabs, near Bamboo Circle.

It is currently unknown what could be causing this unusual seismic activity, but players will find out soon enough once more information is revealed regarding Chapter 4 Season 3.

How to Complete the Visit Excavation Camps Quest

visiting an excavation camp

There are only three excavation camps on the island for now, but this might change as the map continues to be modified to set up the next season. Players will have to visit each one in order to complete this Week 12 quest and receive 25,000 XP.

This season is now coming to an end, and this will be one of the last quests available, so players have very limited time to complete it. All weekly quests will be available until the end of Chapter 4 Season 2 on June 9 at 2 AM ET.

In order for it to count towards quest progress, players need to do is approach the excavation camp area marked on the map. These camps have several lights, excavators, and road signs - it won't be hard for players to notice them as they get closer.

Fortnite is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
