Fortnite has had some serious glitches in the past- not many can forget the shopping cart glitch that killed everyone, or the glitch where a player road a pumpkin rocket across the map. With the number of updates that Fortnite goes through, it's no wonder that the game can get a little buggy, but the Battle Royale game has finally patched an issue plaguing console users.

An issue arose in the latest chapter that slowed all users from editing while sprinting. This issue was initially resolved, but only for PC users. Console users across the board were experiencing more than the minor annoyance with stat-based matchmaking but instead were unable to build fast enough while sprinting in the game. Many users became sitting ducks in matches as their avatars slowly jogged while editing.

Luckily Epic Games has released a patch resolving this issue, among others. Earlier today on the official Fortnite Community Trello, which deals specifically with known issues in the community, had released the following patches:

Battle Royale

  • Issue with editing while sprinting - With the release of the February 25, 2020 maintenance patch, this issue has been resolved on all platforms.
  • Reports of Aim Assist performing inconsistently
  • Corrupted Scratch Outfit style shows no corruption in Lobby - With the release of the February 25, 2020 maintenance patch, this issue has been resolved on all platforms.
  • Losing controller input in Maya's Upgrade Vault

At long last, console players can outrun competitors while quickly building a safe haven which is just one of the many things to improve gamers' experience with Fortnite. Players will also be able to enjoy linear aim assist as it was originally intended as well as being able to modify the Flair style on the Y0ND3R skin. There's been no word on any updates with the glitch where players can bounce a rocket off of a remote block of explosives, so players still may be able to enjoy that before the next update.

Many gamers are baffled as to why the process took so long to update. With events like unlocking the new Deadpool challenges at risk, players are eager to fix any glitch that might get in the way. A Fortnite dev, EpicDustyDevo, explained to Reddit users that sometimes big fixes require more than a simple hotfix change. Previously, many players had an issue with pickaxe harvesting and could only be retconned in an entirely new build and not just in a hotfix. This could explain why the patch took so long but doesn't explain why PC users were able to experience the fix first.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
