The map de_dust2, or simply Dust 2, perhaps the most famous map in the Counter-Strike series, has made its way into Fortnite via an extremely faithful recreation. This adaptation of Dust 2, accessed by using the Fortnite Creative code [9908-4675-7557], comes from the efforts of Team Evolve, a team of content creators for Fortnite's Creative game mode.

This new map comes right as Fortnite's official Search and Destroy mode, which plays like a game of Counter-Strike, comes to an end along with the Love and War event it was part of. So, players who are left wanting more Search and Destroy should be happy to know that the Dust 2 recreation plays similarly to the game it originally comes from.

Past projects that members of Team Evolve have worked on include Fortnite recreations of Hogwarts, Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine, and Rust from Modern Warfare 2. In addition, Team Evolve sometimes works for larger organizations, including the Red Cross and Nickelodeon. For those looking to better their Fortnite building abilities, members of the team also have their own YouTube channels, on which they post helpful tutorials.

For anyone who didn't get the chance to try out Fortnite's Search and Destroy mode and hasn't played Counter-Strike, the game mode is fairly simple. An attacking team with a bomb attempts to plant and detonate it at one of several designated bombsites, which are guarded by the defending team. Teams win rounds by the attackers successfully detonating a bomb, the defenders defusing the bomb, or either side being eliminated.

For those who haven't experienced it yet, Dust 2's iconic layout contains many tight choke points, yet conversely, it has a very natural flow to it. Generally, matches start off with a few long-range shots, followed by players being funneled into medium to close-ranged combat. It should be noted, though, that Fortnite's generally spongier health systems, compared to that of Counter-Strike, may allow for closer combat than is normally viable on Dust 2.

Hopefully, this adaptation should scratch the itches players who were left wanting more Search and Destroy, as well as Counter-Strike fans who just want to see their favorite map in a new setting. Players who'd like to play with their own custom teams on the map, instead of being assigned a random team, should use the code [8784-9694-5171] instead of the one listed above.

Fortnite is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Mobile.
