Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale games and this is because of its unique building mechanics and impressive crossover events. The latest update to the game has introduced a new variable as players can now drive around the map as they attempt to be the last team standing. The ability to drive has been long-awaited in Fortnite, but there are some factors players should take into consideration before they start jumping into vehicles and experiment with the new mode of transport.

The fan base of Fortnite has been torn by frequent updates with some applauding the variety of challenges that have been on offer in Season 3 and others feeling that the game has lost what made it initially special. However, with this recent update to Fortnite, it seems that the whole community is keen to experience the possibly game-changing feature. Fortunately, it should not be too hard for players to find the perfect vehicle to complete challenges.

Players will find a selection of cars across the entirety of the map and should not have a problem finding one when they start a game. Once players are beside the car they will be prompted to enter the vehicle and they simply need to press the button that pops up on the screen. Before getting in the vehicle players should check the wheels of the car to see if it has a yellow clamp that won't allow players to drive it. Equally, if the car has popped tires from being shot, it will impair the ability of players when driving. This is not the only element that Fortnite players should check before driving.

Players will also need to check the gas of their vehicles. If the gas in the vehicle is below 30% players won't get too far, however, there are gas stations dotted around the map that will allow players to refill their tank. With this in mind, some players may be able to skillfully utilize cars that others would not risk using. These new elements in Fortnite have been highly anticipated and it will be interesting to see what the fan base makes of this "Joy Ride" update as they have been very critical in the past.

The team behind Fortnite has a lot of ideas for the game and this evidenced by the amount of content that fans receive. While not all ideas please fans, it is impressive that players are getting so much longevity from a free-to-play title. Many will hope that the addition of cars adds to the already impressive lifespan of Fortnite.

Fortnite is available now for Android, iOS, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
