Earlier today, Fortnite developer Epic Games announced it would be adding yet another new vehicle–the Driftboard–in the forthcoming 7.10 update to the battle royale game. But in a quick turnaround, the developer has decided to delay the Driftboard, citing quality of life improvements taking precedence and polishing of the vehicle itself being necessary before its release.

Epic gave no indication as to when the Driftboard will be coming to the game now, though it is likely to be sooner rather than later. While the vehicle's release has been pushed back, that's not to say the entire 7.10 update has been delayed. In fact, it is still set to go live, bringing with it numerous quality of life improvements for the battle royale game. This seems to be exciting the Fortnite fan base, because many are taking it as indication that Epic Games is listening to them.

For those not in the know, the Fortnite community has been asking Epic to focus on improving the game instead of consistently adding new content. Because it seems that the Driftboard could have potentially introduced more bugs to the battle royale title at this point, it's safe to say fans are glad to see Epic taking its time to make sure that the vehicle lives up to the hype.

Furthermore, with this update now focusing more on quality of life changes, that means players can hopefully have some smoother matches in the future. While Epic has yet to reveal the full list of changes coming in the update, it's already likely to be well-received, especially when considering how popular the title has become.

All things considered, this update will hopefully provide a breath of fresh air for both the community and the developer. In the meantime, players can be prepared for the forthcoming week by checking out the game's Season 7 Week 3's leaked challenges right here.
