Even after 5 years, Fortnite continues to be a massively popular Battle Royale experience. Part of that success no doubt comes from the fact that it is a free to play title with ever-changing content thanks to the live service model. However, for many players, the real draw is all of the crossover events that Fortnite has been able to secure, ranging from video game franchises like God of War, Marvel Comics, Star Wars, and much more. The game even features musical events with major industry stars like Kendrick Lamar and Ariana Grande.

Recently, Fortnite has been diving into anime with the addition of Naruto. Late last year, Fortnite introduced a special creative mode that allowed fans to explore Hidden Leaf Village, in addition to picking up unique skins and cosmetics related to the popular anime series. In June of this year, Naruto and Fortnite teamed up again for a second crossover with new skins for Uchiha, Orochimaru, and more. Naturally, this second crossover event led fans to wonder what else could be potentially coming to Fortnite.

As it turns out, Epic Games has turned to another massively popular anime franchise. After teasing the inclusion of Dragon Ball into Fortnite earlier in the week, Epic Games has set up a new premiere event on its YouTube Channel. Starting on August 16 at 4am ET, Epic Games is planning to debut a gameplay trailer for the latest crossover between Fortnite and Dragon Ball Super. Unfortunately, no additional details were provided, leaving fans to speculate about what sort of crossover event this is going to be.

Initially, fans were under impression that this crossover was to be with Dragon Ball Z after Fortnite dataminers discovered related assets last month and the initial confirmation from Epic not clarifying things further. As it turns out, a leak earlier in the day as well as the newly uploaded trailers have confirmed the inclusion of Dragon Ball Super content as well. Unfortunately, the leak didn't confirm the type of content that will be available, but it's safe to say character skins at the very least will be available.

While Fortnite has been able to reach into plenty of different genre's and franchises, one IP that it likely won't collaborate with is Sony's The Last of Us. Last month featured plenty of rumors indicating that the franchise would likely be joining the likes of Kratos as the second major PlayStation IP to join the popular battle royale. While fans were likely envisioning the likes of Joel and Ellie dropping in, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann shot down the rumors and confirmed there are no plans for The Last of Us to crossover with Fortnite.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile platforms.
