Fortnite fans are sure to be happy this weekend, as Epic Games announced that players will receive double experience from Thursday, April 19 until Sunday, April 22. The double XP is for any player who plays Battle Royale this weekend. Fortnite Save the World players will receive an Into the Storm Llama each day when they log in.

The 3.5 update also brought along the return of the 50v50 Battle Royale game mode for players to enjoy. The event has been reworked a bit to better balance the chaos of the two massive teams. The Light Machine Gun has also been added to both Battle Royale and Save the World game modes, boasting a large magazine but slow reload times. Meanwhile, the guided rocket launcher has been removed from Fortnite for the time being so it can be retooled to better fit the flow of the game.

Alongside the return of the 50v50 game mode, players will receive an extra gift from Epic Games as an apology for the unexpected downtime on April 12. Battle Royale players will receive 20 Battle Pass Stars, while Save the World players will receive 1,600 Seasonal Gold.

When players logged in today, many were expecting Tilted Towers to be no more due to the speculation that the comet would destroy the popular in-game location. However, Tilted Towers is still standing, and it seems that Epic Games was having a bit of fun with the fanbase after so many speculated that the comet would crash on April 18.

It's always nice to see limited-time events kicking off in Fortnite. From the Double XP weekend to the pandemonium that is 50v50, Battle Royale fans are in for one heck of a weekend – and they even get a little bonus from the downtime last week.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
