Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 introduced players to an all-new Primal theme for the game, packing it with primitive POI's, materials, new Primal Weapons, and more. In addition to getting rid of Season 5's controversial IO Guard NPCs, Season 6 added new Spire Assassins and wild animals for players to take out mid-game, the latter of which will reward them with Animal Bones and Meat used to craft weapons, items, and restore health.

Apart from the new frogs, boars, chickens, and wolves added to the game, players can find eggs scattered throughout the map, surrounded by stones and giant ribcage-like bones. These white and blue-speckled eggs haven't served any purpose as of yet, but many fans have noticed that Fortnite's files contain a string of text mentioning "Dinos" in the code, as well as different versions of the eggs. Now, it looks like the eggs are very close to hatching.

Over on Twitter, Fortnite news account FortniteINTEL tweeted an image showing that the eggs have now reached stage 3, which dataminers previously determined to take place between March 30 and April 6. Fortnite leaker HYPEX also tweeted a short video showing that dinosaur-like sounds can now be heard coming from the Fortnite eggs, though they may be difficult to hear during a match.

FortniteINTEL also noted that it is very likely that the mysterious eggs will hatch along with Fortnite's v16.10 update next week. Since the start of Chapter 2 Season 6, Epic Games has made slight mentions of the mysterious eggs, urging players to stay away for now in a recent official Fortnite blog post, and also said "the most fearsome predators have yet to hatch" upon the launch of Season 6. Along with the speculation of Raptors, fans have begun to theorize that the coming of the new predators could introduce a Fortnite collaboration with Jurassic World.

Other datamines have found text strings within the game's code for when players are eliminated or knocked out by "a wild Raptor." Additionally, dataminers have uncovered that the predators will act similarly to other animals like the boars and wolves, only being hostile on sight, but also being tamable like some wildlife. Fortnite dataminer iFireMonkey also uncovered that it seems the Raptors will spawn in forest areas around the game's map.

Even though players are only a few weeks into Chapter 2 Season 6, it seems that they can expect a new kind of wildlife to shake up the game very soon. It will certainly be interesting to see how the upcoming Raptors come into play with the next Fortnite update.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
