Fortnite's 2021 Halloween event kicks off this week, and players can now accept even more quests from some spooky NPCs. Fortnitemares brings new items, challenges, a returning LTM, and much more to Epic's ever-evolving battle royale game. One of the questlines that players can partake in is from Dark Jonesy, and he wants Fortnite players to destroy the corruption cluster and all corruption fragments. By following this guide, players will learn how to find the fragments and destroy the cluster to earn some extra XP towards the battle pass.

How to Find Corruption Fragments In Fortnite

If players hover over the quest in the menu, they can see three locations on the map with exclamation points. All three locations surround the new area in the middle of the map called The Convergence. This is where players needed to go for the previous quest from Dark Jonesy in order to touch a cube.

Once players head to any of the following locations on the Fortnite map, they will spot three glowing purple crystals coming out of the ground:

  • South of The Convergence
  • Northeast of Boney Burbs
  • South of Corny Crops/East of The Convergence

How to Destroy the Corruption Cluster in Fortnite

The player's melee weapon can destroy them. However, the fragments will keep coming back from the ground for quite some time, but players will just need to keep attacking them until they form into one corruption cluster. When players destroy the cluster, the quest will be marked as complete, and 2.9K XP will be earned as a result.

It may seem like this Fortnite quest is bugged considering how long it takes for the cluster to form, but players should be patient and wait until it appears. If players find themselves hitting the fragments for much too long of a time, try to go to one of the other locations and try it again.

Fortnite is currently free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
