As players work through Part 1 of Fortnite's Paradise quest, they will encounter a task that instructs them to destroy Chrome objects, then collect Chrome Anomalies. While this instruction is fairly straightforward, some players may be unclear about how to find the Chrome objects that they must destroy. Fortunately, it is quite easy to locate Chrome objects in Fortnite, and this guide is here to assist with that endeavor.

Fortnite: Destroy Chrome Objects, Then Collect Chrome Anomalies

While there are many ways that players can approach this task, it is recommended that they begin by traveling to Lustrous Lagoon, a named location in the northeast quadrant of the map. Upon arriving at this location, fans will find many Chrome-covered trees and rocks, and they should hit them with their harvesting tools to obtain Chrome Splash in Fortnite. Notably, not all of these objects will expel Chrome Splash when struck, though they will do so fairly regularly.

With some Chrome Splash in hand, players should throw it at an object that is not already covered with Chrome, such as a nearby tree or even a wall that they construct themselves. This action will cause the targeted object to be encased in Chrome, and fans should now destroy it with their harvesting tools in Fortnite. Upon the destruction of the object, players may find that a spherical Chrome Anomaly has dropped on the ground, and they should pick it up before moving on to apply Chrome to something else.

To note, Chrome Anomalies will not appear every time that an object that has been targeted with Chrome Splash is destroyed. Fortnite players should thus be prepared to repeat this process numerous times before they have collected the five Chrome Anomalies that are required for completion of this Paradise quest step. Fortunately, there is no shortage of Chrome Splash, or objects to hit with it, in the game, and fans that are persistent will eventually reach the next challenge.

With respect to the specifics of that next challenge, it tasks players with placing the Chrome Anomaly in the test chamber at a Research Lab. Fans can pinpoint the locations of these Labs by tracking the relevant quest in their logs, and placing the Anomaly is as simple as interacting with the test chamber inside. When that has been done, players should approach the nearby buttons and hit them as they turn from white to red to further advance Fortnite's Paradise quest.

Fortnite is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
