One of Fortnite's Chapter 3 Season 3 Week 8 quests instructs players to deal explosive damage while looking away, and 15,000 XP is granted to those fans that complete it. While there are numerous ways that players can go about addressing this task, not all of them can be executed quickly and consistently. Fortunately, there are at least two methods that make it extremely easy to deal explosive damage while looking away in Fortnite, and they are fully detailed in this guide.

Fortnite: Deal Explosive Damage While Looking Away

Players that are looking to quickly complete this quest should set their sights on one of the gas stations that are scattered across Fortnite's map. While these establishments are quite abundant, and fans should have no trouble encountering them during their matches, several have been marked on the map that is below to make things as easy as possible. Upon arriving at one of these gas station, players should pick up any weapon that they find in the area and fire it at a gas pump.

Players should continue to shoot at their chosen gas pump until it catches fire, and they should then quickly turn their backs to it. After just a few seconds, the pump will explode, dealing damage to everything in its vicinity. Indeed, this will count as dealing explosive damage while looking away, and Fortnite players will receive indication that they have completed the quest and earned their XP reward immediately following the gas pump's detonation.

Alternatively, fans can quickly complete this challenge by hopping into a boat in the large body of water near the center of the map. Once one of Fortnite's boats has been commandeered, players should locate any structure that is near to the water and fire a missile at it. Fans must then simply turn to face away from the structure before the missile connects with it, and the challenge will be marked as complete when that contact has been made.

After a player has dealt explosive damage while looking away, they may want to start working on some other Week 8 quests. Perhaps the trickiest challenge of this batch is the one that requires fans to find the coolest player on the island in Fortnite. Indeed, some players may be unclear about exactly who this challenge is referring to, though they are sure to have a smile on their faces as soon as they find out.

Fortnite is currently free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
