Popular battle royale game Fortnite is officially crossing over with sci-fi survival-horror game Dead Space, as revealed by the latest Item Shop update. Fortnite crossovers have included everything from Marvel to Star Wars, along with plenty of video game collaborations. Even though Fortnite is presented as a family-friendly game, some of the crossover skins have focused on characters from adult-oriented media, like Rick and Morty, various characters from The Walking Dead, Kratos from God of War, and more.It was leaked quite some time ago that Fortnite would be crossing over with Dead Space in an effort to promote the upcoming Dead Space remake. The Dead Space remake is scheduled to launch on Friday, January 27, giving sci-fi horror fans the chance to relive the classic game with upgraded graphics and many other improvements. While fans wait for the Dead Space remake release date to roll around, they can pass the time by playing as Isaac Clarke in Fortnite.RELATED: Fortnite's Shockwave Hammer Is Still BrokenThe Isaac Clarke skin in Fortnite is available through the Strange Transmissions Quest Pack, available to purchase for $11.99 in real money as opposed to Fortnite's V-Bucks currency. For their money, players get the Isaac Clarke Outfit, RIG Back Bling, USG Ishimura Back Bling, the Plasma Cutter Pickaxe, the Bench Upgrade Emote, and quests that can be completed to earn 1,500 V-Bucks.

The Dead Space crossover in Fortnite is certainly showing love for the sci-fi horror game and fans will likely get a kick out of the items on offer. The USG Ishimura is the ill-fated ship that Isaac explores in the Dead Space game, whereas the Plasma Cutter is Isaac's most iconic weapon, used to dismember countless necromorph monsters. Players are able to upgrade the Plasma Cutter and Isaac's other gear at Bench Upgrades, so it's cool to see that element of Dead Space recreated in Fortnite as well.

Isaac Clarke is joining Fortnite's Gaming Legends Series, which has already featured quite the impressive list of game characters. Besides the aforementioned Kratos of God of War fame, Fortnite has also been home to Master Chief from Halo, Doom Slayer from Doom, and most recently, Geralt from The Witcher. Like those skins, the Dead Space content will only be available to purchase in Fortnite for a limited time, so anyone interested should be sure to grab it while they still can.

Fortnite skins do eventually cycle back into the shop, though it's anyone's guess as to when the Dead Space content will ever return to the battle royale. Rumor has it that The Walking Dead skins are coming back to Fortnite soon, though nothing official has been announced on that front just yet.

Fortnite is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
