Fortnite has remained absurdly popular for years, with constant new events, cosmetics, and gameplay styles keeping the playerbase eagerly engaged. This has even included musical events and concerts held within Fortnite, and new evidence is hinting that a major pop star could be coming soon.

Fortnite dataminers have been hard at work as always, and have discovered a new emote in the game. The song that plays during the emote would be difficult to identify as anything but a song by Lady Gaga, giving credence to the idea of some kind of Gaga event coming in the near future.

The information was uncovered by Fortnite Leaks and shared on the web. The collaborative emote, which is shown being used by four different players, is called Jug Band. While the name and instruments don't lend themselves to any kind of Lady Gaga theme, the song they're playing is unmistakable: it's Poker Face, one of Lady Gaga's early pop hits.

While Lady Gaga fans might be getting excited, it's a good idea to take this information with a grain of salt. Currently, Fortnite is celebrating its Rainbow Royale event, a LGBTQIA+ celebration offering users free emotes and items, and the Rainbow Crossroads island. As part of the celebration, Fortnite is also planning on playing select tracks by LGBTQIA+ artists on the radio starting on September 8, including Lady Gaga. It's possible that the emote is an extension of the Rainbow Royale event and simply hasn't been revealed to the public yet.

Fortnite has already seen quite a few musical artist appearances over the years, though Lady Gaga has not been one of them. This is likely largely due in part to the fact that a few years back, she didn't seem to know what Fortnite was. The pop artist took to Twitter to ask fans about it, and ended up butting heads with Fortnite icon Ninja on the social media platform. That was back in 2019, however, so there's been plenty of time for Lady Gaga to expand her awareness of popular video games.

While it remains to be seen if or when Lady Gaga will make a performance in Fortnite, it probably won't be very long before the Jug Band emote is made accessible. It's probable that it will be added to the game after the radio starts playing songs by Lady Gaga, so fans should be able to learn more one way or another by early September.

Fortnite is available for PC, Mobile, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
